Coaching Opportunities


Tehachapi Starlings Volleyball is looking for talented volleyball coaches in the Tehachapi area. We are seeking candidates with expertise that may hold college coaching and/or playing experience. The ideal candidate must be able to manage kids in the age range of 9 to 18, be organized, have an energetic personality and passion to coach the game. The coaching position requires availability for at least 2 nights a week and some weekends. Salary ranges according to experience.

The Tehachapi Starlings Volleyball Coaches are responsible for all duties associated with coaching a youth club program.


Annually for the duration of the sport season in which she/he is coaching.



Tehachapi Starlings Volleyball Club Director



  • Demonstrated commitment to players success and ability to recruit, train, and evaluate club student athletes.

  • Have a strong enough background of the sport to emphasize skill development and leadership.

  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills and the ability to work effectively with student athletes, coaches, and administrators.

  • Commitment to adhere to all the policies, rules, and regulations of Tehachapi Starlings Volleyball and Southern California Volleyball Association (SCVA).

  • Must have prior volleyball coaching or playing experience at a collegiate level.



  • Teach volleyball skills, strategies and implement them in competition.

  • Run a variety of drills during a given 2 hour practice period.

  • Motivate players to perform on the court.

  • Plan and organize practices and team meetings.

  • Be knowledgeable of current volleyball rules and policies in the SCVA.



  • Comply with all job expectations as outlined in the Tehachapi Starlings Volleyball Coaching Agreement.

  • Ensure individual and program compliance with all policies and procedures of Tehachapi Starlings Volleyball. Ensure safety of all team members, coaches and equipment is the top priority at all times.

  • Design and implement practice and training schemes for practices.



  • Must to be able to commit at least two hours of practice time, twice a week between November 2017 and June 2018, plus a minimum of 1-3 tournaments a month from December 2017 through June 2018



  • This is a paid position. Travel Club Coaches will receive a monthly stipend of $500. Should you not attend all practices and tournaments for any particular month, you will not be paid for that practice and your monthly pay will be figured at an hourly wage.
